OSCARs - Foreign Language Film

Foreign Language Film nominations always makes OSCAR nominees more diverse, because mostly their are made in non-Hollywood manner and tell us non-Hollywood stories.

This year 15 countries have already submitted their motion pictures for best Foreign Language Film nominations and they are (Source Wikipedia):

Rest of the countries have announced short-lists to determine future nominees for Academy Award. After Venice film festival movie-goers attentions is drawn to South Korea, which is going to announce its submission quite shortly. One of the Korean short-lists Kim Ki Duk's Pieta champed on Venice FF with golden lion. We probably see that film in Academy nominees short-list too.

All submissions will be announced by Academy of Motion Picture,Arts and Science in October 2012, short lists in mid-January 2013 and nominees on January 24, 2013.

For now, predicted nominees are:

  • Amour (Austria)
  • Tabu (Portugal)
  • Pieta (South Korea)
  • Lore (Australia)
